Sophie Kuhn was born in the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland, as the youngest of three children, where she studied civil and architectural design. After immigrating to Canada, she worked as a draftsperson in civil and mechanical engineering, until she finally decided to pursue her passion and inherent talent for the fine arts on a full-time basis.
Sophie makes her work truly unique, invariably capturing the beauty of her subjects, while conveying a strong meaning. Her works consist of abstract and symbolic images, as well as still objects, nature, and portraits. She puts great importance in colors, as they draw out her deepest emotions and allow her to express her inner-most essence. She believes that colors, much as aromas, have therapeutic properties, and thus coins her work as "Color Therapy". She tends to use vivid, warm and well-saturated colors in order to create images that inspire positive and energizing emotions. Sophie’s works can be viewed online and in person at the various exhibitions. |
